Message from Principal Brock:

Happy Friday! Lots of wonderful things have happened at TMMS since the last Stampede went out. It was a pleasure to host a wonderful Veteran’s day assembly on the 10th. There are so many individuals who come together to make our assemblies run smoothly. I want to give a special thank you to Mr. Eric Durbin, who was our Keynote speaker and served in the United States Marine Corps. We are blessed to have Mr. Durbin as a teacher and community member of Thurgood Marshall MS.

Last week we also made a slight shift to our Wednesday Early Release schedule to provide more institutional time in each classroom on Wednesday. If you are ever wondering what the specific bell schedule is, feel free to check them out on our website.  For those of you who are wondering, asynchronous learning is our Core/Flex time.

Lastly, today was a special feast at TMMS. Our lunch staff provided a thanksgiving meal for students that was complete with apple crisp. Today also was the opening of the Student Store. The store supplies additional snacks and drink options for students. It will be open on Fridays and is not meant to be a substitute for a full student lunch. The student store and school lunches are two different options. OSD oversees the school lunches, while our Marshall Community Council (MCC) is running our student store. Students must bring cash if they wish to purchase anything from the MCC student store.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving. We will have school on Monday and Tuesday. TMMS will be closed Wednesday-Friday for Thanksgiving Break.

Snack Support:

Our health room and counseling center are requesting donations of snacks.  If you're able to help, please consider sending in some of the following items:  Individual packets of trail mix, individual bags of Pirate's Booty, individual meat/cheese snacks, or cheese sticks.  Any nutritious, low-carb snacks would be welcome. We will provide these snacks to many students who need them throughout the day. Thank you!

See’s Candy Fundraiser:

See's Candy Fundraiser is underway. This fundraiser will end on Monday, December 5 at 3:45 p.m. Please make checks payable to TMMS ASB. These candies make great holiday gifts! They will be delivered before we go on winter break. Order now from your favorite student.

Thank you!
