HSMjr Auditions Week

Posted Date: 10/04/26 (03:00 PM)

Welcome to High School Musical Jr. AUDITIONS WEEK!

It’s not too late to attend auditions! Just show up and we will help you figure it out.

  1. Auditions Week: Oct. 5 - 9 after school in the cafeteria from 3:45-5:15 on Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. *Fall Sports participants speak to Ms. White or Ms. Redulla to sign up for your own audition times that don’t conflict with Fall Sports practice/games.

  2. EVERYONE needs to attend Auditions Week. Whether you signed up as an Actor or Stage Crew, we want to make sure that everyone understands the storyline, the variety of acting roles and stage crew roles.

  3. EVERYONE will be assigned a role. There are no cuts. We can use everyone in some way or another.

  4. Exactly how will auditions run?

    1. Monday: Getting to know the musical and YOU! Explanation of roles and auditions. Theater ice breakers and getting to know each other. “We’re all in this together”.

    2. Tuesday/Thursday: Workshop Rotations:

      1. Acting/Singing/Dancing/Stage Crew

      2. Everyone will rotate through all of the stations (even if you signed up for stage crew, we want you to experience what actors are doing so you know how to best support them in turn AND actors, we want you to understand how stage crew is supporting you behind the scenes and the variety of roles for stage crew).

      3. 20 minutes per station per day.

    3. Friday: EVERYONE auditions. You can choose to audition in small groups OR for specific roles. You will be scored on Technique, Stage Presence, Focus, Positive Attitude, and Collaboration.

  5. VOLUNTEERS & SNACKS!

    1. We need Student Wranglers for Auditions Week and beyond. If you are a parent/guardian who is willing to help monitor and supervise students throughout the audition process, please make sure you have filled out the current 26-27 OSD Volunteer Form (you have to fill it out each new school year). Then email Ms. Redulla or Ms. White the exact Audition Week dates that you are available to help out.

    2. SNACKS! Have you seen your teen hangry yet? We have. It’s not pretty. If you would like to donate (nut-free) snacks for Auditions Week, just drop them off at the front office with a note that says Auditions Week Snacks and your name, because we absolutely want to thank you.

  6. Last Date to Register and Pay is Oct. 16th!

  7. Official Rehearsals Calendar TBD…stay tuned.
