This Attendance Information Details the Requirements for Parents and Students.

ATTENDANCE / TARDY POLICY

Parents should call the school office each morning that their student is absent and/or tardy, (596-7603). A secretary will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m. Parents who do not call will be contacted. Students who are late without parent's or guardian's knowledge will be considered tardy; and students who are absent without parent's knowledge will have an unexcused absence. All late arriving students are to report to the attendance window with a note from their parent or guardian before going to class. Repeated tardies / unexcused absences will result in disciplinary action. Students late to class must have a pass. Students are truant when they willingly leave the campus during the school day without permission or do not attend class. Students who are truant are subject to disciplinary action. Students who are unable to schedule medical and other appointments outside the school day must bring a signed note from a parent or guardian to the attendance window before school.

If the actions taken by Marshall are not successful in substantially reducing absences, after the seventh unexcused absence during any month or the tenth unexcused absence during the school year, the district shall file a petition with the juvenile court alleging violation of RCA 28A.225.010 by the parent and/or child.
