How do I contact my student’s teacher?

Teachers can be contacted through email and voice mail.  Visit teacher web pages for email.  The school’s number is 596-7600.

How can I check my student’s grades?

Some teachers have grades posted on their web pages.  Otherwise, you can contact teachers directly through email or phone. Progress reports are provided periodically as well.  Check with your student’s teachers for frequency of progress reports.

What is the schedule?

School starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m.  Typically all 6th graders have second lunch and 7th and 8th graders have first lunch

What is “Homework Club”?

Homework club is offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:35-3:30 p.m. and staffed by a teacher. 

 

Who can be a TA?

Teacher Assistants (TA’s) are by request only.  Students can be TA’s during their enrichment or PE periods. (PE is a requirement for ½ of the school year).  TA’s can work for any staff member. 

What is enrichment?

Enrichment is a class for students who do not participate in a music class.  Content for the enrichment classes varies depending on the teacher.  Most enrichment classes have a study hall component.  Marshall has made efforts to give enrichment an academic focus this year.

What is AIM?

AIM stands for Accelerate in Mathematics and is a taken by students needing extra support in mathematics

What music is offered and who can take music?

Marshall offers band, choir and orchestra for grades 6, 7, and 8.

 

How can parents get involved?

Marshall has a parent group call the Marshall Community Council (MCC).  It serves much like a traditional PTA.  Parents are invited to join the MCC.  Membership forms are available online as well as in the front office.  Marshall relies on parent volunteers for the activity afternoons (3 times a year, WASL support, 8th grade promotion, and staff appreciation as well as in classrooms and the library. 

What sports are offered at Marshall?

Sports are offered for 7th and 8th graders.
