Fundraising 2017 FUN-RUN
Dear Parents/Guardian -
Thanks to feedback from our school community, we have heard that being asked to buy and sell products to raise money for MMS adds stress and additional pressure for families. We know families want to provide financial support to our school but are not always interested in buying and selling the “products.” In the past, we have partnered with companies which must cover overhead, so only a portion of the sales go directly to our school. Our staff has additionally brought forward the concern that the trinkets and prizes end up in our landfill. For these reasons, we’ve decided to try something new this year to raise funds.

What is our Fundraising Goal?
This year, Marshall Middle School ASB needs to raise $9000 to fund our planned educational enhancement opportunities, i.e., athletics, music events, school spirit celebrations, equipment and buses for athletic equipment, lunchtime recreation items, support for our plays and productions, etc. Student involvement in these enhancement opportunities adds to each student’s educational experience and enhances the overall education process. Your support directly benefits each of our students and ensures that these important programs continue throughout the year.

Please consider the following ways to support our student:
1) Go online to Marshall Middle School’s homepage and use our secure DONATE NOW button found at the bottom of the page under Useful Links. Select “ASB Turkey Trot Fundraiser” and enter your information. This is the preferred way of donating.

2) Cash or checks can be dropped off in person at the MMS main office (100% of each donation goes directly to ASB for the benefit of our students.)

3) Support your student by pledging money to the Fun(d) Run - The Turkey Trot - which will take place on Tuesday, November 21st at school. This will be a fun spirit event for our students where they can take part in friendly competition between house groups.
(See info on the back of this form).

Our Fundraising Drive begins NOW, and will continue throughout the year; however, please consider contributing by Friday, December 1st, as this allows continuation of enhancement
activities throughout this year. If we don’t make our $9000.00 fundraising goal soon, we may need to go back to selling items throughout the rest of the school year.

Thank you in advance for your support. We truly appreciate your ongoing involvement in enriching the education of our Thurgood Marshall Middle School community.
